Ed Buckley – “Coach Ed”
Director of Training/Head Muay Thai Instructor
Ed has over 20 years of experience in martial arts with 15 of those years training in Muay Thai Kickboxing. He comes from San Diego’s original Muay Thai kickboxing gym, Black Tiger Thai Boxe. In the early 90’s, while at Black Tiger Ed was the team captain for the fight team and head Muay Thai instructor.

As a trainer Ed Buckley has trained and managed America’s only 6-time world Kickboxing Champion Danny “Hard As” Steele. He is currently training all of UND1SPUTED’s Competition Team Fighters and Trainers with focus on their Muay Thai and striking. Thai and Striking.

As the Director of Training, Ed plans on using his past business, management, and training skills to good use by putting UND1SPUTED on the map, producing the best fighters in competition and the best team of trainers found anywhere.

Ed Buckley is UND1SPUTED’s Director of Training and Head Muay Thai Instructor, he teaches numerous Muay Thai classes throughout the day both at UND1SPUTED North Park and UND1SPUTED Point Loma, and is available for private instruction.




Frank Salgado – “Frank Da Tank”
Resident MMA and Muay Thai Trainer
Frank Salgado was born and raised in San Diego, California. He started training MMA right out of High School at the world famous Ken Shamrock’s Lions Den.

He then began his training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Rodrigo Medieros. In 2001, he began training in Muay Thai at City Boxing with Melchor Menor and Ole Larsen, also Boxing with Roberto Garcia. In December of 2001, he traveled to Thailand and trained at the world renowned Jitti Gym in Bangkok. While at City Boxing Frank continued his Jiu Jitsu training with Dean Lister and Brandon Vera before making a move to the San Diego Fight Club, where he trained under Veteran Charlie Kohler.

Frank is currently Training at UND1SPUTED North Park doing Jiu Jitsu under Baret Yoshida while teaching Muay Thai there and at UND1SPUTED Point Loma.

Frank Salgado is currently an instructor in Muay Thai and MMA both at UND1SPUTED North Park and UND1SPUTED Point Loma, and is also available for Private Instruction.

Phineas Nhlengethwa – “Lucky”
Resident Boxing Coach and Personal Trainer
In 1980, at the young age of 10 years, Phineas Nhlengethwa, otherwise known as “Lucky” became interested in boxing. In 1984, Lucky was runner up bantam weight division of the South Africa Amateur Boxing Union (Known as SABU). One year later, he forfeited a fight because he didn’t make weight, but was nominated the best boxer in all the divisions during the SABU. That honor was later reinforced as Lucky reigned as the 1986-1988 middle weight champion of the SABU. By 1989, Lucky exchanged his amateur status for a chance at becoming a professional boxer. aprofessionalboxer.

In the year 2000 he joined Harold Volbreght gym and became Brian Mitchell’s chief sparring partner. Brian Mitchell was the world champion at that time. Two years later with 6 professional fights completed, Lucky moved to the United States to further pursue his boxing career. Over the next 5 years, he fought professionally ending with a record 10 wins, 5 losses and 3 draws. Finally, in 2007 Lucky decided it was time to hang up his gloves and focus on passing on his skills.

Now as a dedicated trainer, Lucky is well-rounded in all boxing styles and continues to inspire his students. With 17 years experience, students who train with Lucky benefit from his knowledge and passion for the sport.

Chris Kempton – “The Rebel”
Assistant Muay Thai & Boxing Coach and Personal Trainer

Chris is one of the newest faces on our training staff here at the Boxing Company and we really love having him here. Chris began serving his country in The United States Armed Forces at the age of 18. Already an accomplished high school wrestler, he continued his wresting career while in the military were he competed against such well known names as Dan Henderson (formerly of Pride FC and currently in the UFC) and Reese Andy (IFL).

Chris began his training in Muay Thai at Fairtex in Mountain View California which caused him to lose his lacrosse scholarship. He swears it was the best decision he ever made. While at Fairtex he trained under Jongsanen "The Wooden Man" Fairtex and En "The Quiet Storm" Fairtex.

One year after he began training in Muay Thai he relocated to San Diego and now trains at UND1SPUTED with the UND1SPUTED Mixed Martial Arts Competition Team. Since his arrival at UND1SPUTED, Chris has worked diligently on his Boxing and his Jiu Jitsu while making his transition into MMA. Chris’s hard work ethic earned him a bronze medal at the OTM US Open. He is now a member of the training staff at the Boxing Company and could not think of a more enjoyable way to spend his time.





Priest Smalls – “Tiger”
Resident Boxing Coach

Priest "Tiger" Smalls, also known by his fans as "The Pride of the Wild", began his Boxing career in New York City, drafted into the Training Camp of the greatest of all time Muhammad Ali. As an Amateur, Tiger became the 3 time New York State Golden Gloves Champion, and then by 1988 became the All-Armed Services Bantamweight Champion.

After turning Professional in 1992, he quickly captured the California and New York State USBA, WBO-INC, and WBO-NABO Featherweight Championship. In 2004, Tiger was awarded the interim WBO World Featherweight Championship, making him the first and only fighter to hold the WBO-INC, WBO-NABO, and WBO World Championship Simultaneously. This earned him the title WBO Featherweight “King”.

Tiger Smalls is still a very active fighter who over his illustrious career has amassed an astounding 112 wins, 27 losses, and 6 draws, with an amazing 70 Knockouts.
Tiger is in charge of both the Youth Boxing Program and UND1SPUTED’S Boxing Competition Team. He teaches multiple Boxing classes for UND1SPUTED North Park and UND1SPUTED Point Loma. He is also available for Private Instruction.

Sarah Anisman

Sarah is a Northern California native with a degree in Mass Communication from Menlo College. She began her Fitness career by completing the American Council on Exercise Certificate Program through the University of California at San Diego, where she received her education in fitness and nutrition, and is currently pursuing her Masters in Kinesiology/Sports Psychology at Cal State Long Beach. She is certified as a Personal Trainer through ACE as well as the American College of Sports Medicine, and spent 2 years as a Personal Trainer under Todd Durkin, world re-knowned Personal Trainer/Life Coach who has worked with the likes of LaDanian Tomlinson, Drew Breez, and Reggie Bush.

Her college sport career included Division I Crew at San Diego State University along with previous competition in Softball, Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball and Muay Thai, in which she has been training in for the past 5 years (two of which have been at Undisputed).

Sarah works with clients of all backgrounds/ages, from those who are just trying to get and stay fit to coaching and conditioning athletes, helping
them achieve and maintain their fitness and performance goals, and she is really excited about joining the Undisputed family!
